MATHEMATICS & SCIENCE EDUCATION
Our Education programme funds excellence as scholarship to the deserving Mathematics and Science furthering their studies in Engineering field thats leads into qualifying as Engineers as we want to revolutionilise and change the face our education system to produce young people that can compete successfully at the world stage from. All our scholarship recipients are encouraged to give back to their communities and work with MYDI as mentors to new students as we will be assisting where we can for excellent results for those pursuing to study.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES
Our entrepreneurial development program provide skills (teaching their hands to work) in order to remove the concept of “free services” by creating training opportunities in various skills as well as zooming into farming opportunities for young people to be economically active, build their confidence and maximize their potential. Our program also include: Career Expo and Guidance as well as Business and Entrepreneurship Seminars.
Our main objective here is to develop Godly Entrepreneurs at a young age that will dream big and believe God for start up businesses that won’t only benefit them but to eradicate poverty in their society as well.

Henry Mhlanga is a seasoned leader with extensive experience spanning education, technical trades, and community development. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Mission for Youth Development Initiative (MYDI), where he leads community-based programmes focused on youth empowerment, skills development, and social transformation in South Africa.
Henry brings over two decades of experience across both public and private sectors. He began his career as a Mathematics and Physical Science teacher in the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Basic Education before transitioning into industry, where he worked more than a decade as a Millwright with South32, providing technical expertise and mentorship. This unique combination enables him to connect education, technical training and workforce readiness effectively.
An ETDP-Certified Practitioner, Henry is skilled in training design, facilitation and learner development with qualifications in business and entrepreneurship management, educational leadership, and electromechanical training. Through his leadership at MYDI, he has played a key role in building partnerships and mobilizing community support to sustain and expand youth-focused programs.
As a member of the Fundraising & Development Committee at Empower Skilled Trades Foundation (ESTF), Henry contributes practical insight into community engagement, partnership development, and sustainable program growth. His experience in leading grassroots initiatives strengthens the Foundation's approach to resource mobilization by aligning donor engagement with community-driven impact.
Henry remains deeply committed to empowering youth and advancing inclusive development through education, technical skills, and values of integrity, compassion, and excellence.

Mr Parfitt brings a wealth of experience as a Millwright with South32 Aluminium Smelter, Oil and Petrochemical companies and automotive industries. He is having a comprehensive understanding os ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 adherence policies and Project Management. He has been in various management positions.
OUR STRATEGY
Our strategy for the next three years is to focus on our primary objective mentioned below at a small scale to develop and equip the youth holistically while building skills development institutions to unleash potential for those hidden God-given talents for purposeful living to have a meaningful contribution to their communities and the marketplace so that God may be glorified as they serve God’s purpose through their gifts and talents. As we grow, we will roll out all our programmes to the community in our centre so that we may serve them fully for the glory of God.

MYDI AUTHORITY
Our authority is biblically inclined as God in His Divine Wisdom wired us differently for different mission fields yet the same COMMISSION and CHURCH as the governing agency on earth remained the sending place for everyone with a God-given assignment to serve their gifts to the nation and the world hence we don't operate solo, we follow biblical-pattern of the Church's authority as it's not only nice to have the leadership triangle where every man needs a Paul, a Barnabas, and a Timothy but it's practical, Spirit led for growth and kingdom impact. This also helps the assigned person(s) to serve with integrity and humility in the God-given assignment.
